Maynard Webb is chief operating officer for eBay, coordinating company-wide implementation of all business strategies and helping eBay build its business long term. In other words, Maynard's job is all about execution.
Maynard joined eBay in 1999 as president of eBay Technologies. In this role, Maynard was responsible for all engineering and technical operations at eBay. This included product strategy, technology strategy, engineering, architecture, site operations, and customer support.
His initiatives have resulted in technology becoming a core strength for eBay. On an average day, the eBay site supports millions of items for sale in thousands of categories. eBay has become one of the busiest, most industrious transaction platforms in the world.
Maynard has a distinguished record of technology and business management achievements during his twenty-two year career. Prior to joining eBay, he was senior vice president and CIO at Gateway, Inc., a Fortune 250 leader in computing technology, where he contributed to Gateway's rapid expansion and Internet-enabled business operations. He has also worked at Quantum, Thomas Conrad, Figgie International and IBM.
Maynard graduated with a B.A. degree from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL.
