Mark & Jerri Laymon's Tribute To Kenneth E. Hagin Sr.
In Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on September 19, 2003, Reverend Kenneth E. Hagin, founder of Kenneth Hagin Ministries, went home to be with the Lord at 7:00 a.m.

On Saturday evening September 13, Reverend Hagin went to bed feeling well. Sunday morning, he woke up and prepared for the day. Friends came over and cooked breakfast for he and his wife, Oretha. After finishing his breakfast, Rev. Hagin sat at the end of the table, smiled at Oretha, sighed, and his head fell to his chest.
The ministry of Kenneth E. Hagin Sr. has spanned nearly 70 years and touched the lives of hundreds of thousands!
He was quickly transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was admitted to the cardiac intensive care unit. He remained hospitalized with his family at his side until the time of his passing.
Kenneth Hagin - One of Our Fathers of Faith!

We heard the news shortly after it happened. We live less than 10 miles from Rhema, and the news was all over Tulsa within minutes. Even though we are not physically related to Reverend Hagin, we still lost our breath when we heard of his passing. Immediately, we headed to our bedroom, sat on the bed and began to weep. Praying at the same time, we thanked God for sharing this wonderful man with all of us, and we interceded with groanings for the family members who were feeling his loss in ways we couldn't imagine. To all of the Hagin Family, we sincerely share our Love with and for you at this time! We stand in the gap for your complete healing and restoration! Because Kenneth Hagin is nothing less than one of our Fathers of Faith, we honor him with this tribute. Praise God for Kenneth E. Hagin!

A Brief Biography of The Man & His Ministry
Known as the Father of the Modern Faith Movement, Kenneth Hagin was a prophet, preacher & teacher. Born on August 20, 1917, Reverend Hagin learned early in life the necessity of faith. It was as if the spirits of sickness and disease had a contract out on him. By the time he was 17 years old, the stage was already set for the miraculous to happen in his life. Diagnosed with a deformed heart and an incurable blood disease, God literally raised him from his deathbed. In the year 1934, a sickly and already worn teenager was about to step out on the stage that would broadcast revelation to a world almost void of the knowledge of Faith. Born on August 20, 1917, Rev. Hagin's ministry spanned almost 70 years.
When a person reaches out to God in desperation, and stays desperate for the remainder of their life, not only do they get healed and made whole, but others are touched as well. That's exactly what happened in the case of Brother Hagin.
Once he received his complete healing and restoration, he dove into the Word of God with a passion. Tapping into Spiritual Truths that were obviously hidden away for this last generation, he began finding ways to share those revelations with everyone around him. Anointed for the Office of Prophet, he wrote books, taught and preached the Word of Faith message for almost 70 years. What a legacy! Ranking with God's Best in the Heavenly Hall of Faith, Kenneth Hagin went on to contribute more to the Body of Christ, and the world as a whole, than had been accomplished in the numerous centuries before him!
This Emblem of Faith stands above Rhema in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In 1974, Rev. Hagin founded RHEMA Bible Training Center, which has 23,000 alumni. There are Rhema Bible Training Centers in 13 other nations of the world: Austria, Brazil, Colombia, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Romania, Samoa, Singapore, South Africa, and Thailand. In 1979, he founded the Prayer and Healing Center to provide a place where the sick could come and have the opportunity to build their faith. Healing School continues to be held free of charge twice daily on the Rhema campus. Being able to preach the Word of God in an easy-to-understand manner, Brother Hagin began a movement that is exploding daily around the world!
Today, Rhema is known virtually worldwide. Even people who are not Christian or a part of any church come from all over the United States to see Rhema during the Christmas holidays. It's definitely a community oriented organization in Tulsa.
Since its inception, Kenneth Hagin Ministries has expanded to include numerous media outreaches and ministries that will continue to grow and impact the world. These include Faith Library Publications, which has more than 65 million books in print; Rhema Praise, a weekly television program; Faith Seminar of the Air, a radio program which is heard on scores of stations nationwide and on the Internet worldwide; The Word of Faith, a free monthly magazine with nearly 250,000 subscribers; crusades conducted throughout the nation; Rhema Correspondence Bible School; and the Rhema Prayer and Healing Center. Even though he's gone, it'll all continue to grow and grow just like he would've wanted it to!
In closing, here are some special words from his son, Rev. Kenneth Hagin Jr., about his father:

“He wrote in his Bible,
‘The Bible says it, I believe it,
and that settles it!’”
Rhema Bible Chruch is located on 71st St. between 145th and 161st in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. “Brother Hagin was not a man who merely practiced what he preached, he preached what he lived. His great legacy of faith will live on in the countless lives that have been healed, touched, and changed through his ministry.”
Rev. Hagin is survived by his wife, Oretha; two children, Kenneth Hagin Jr.
and Pat Harrison; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
